We’ve just launched a private beta for our brand-new free online PDF-to-Word converter, with the first 2000 people who sign up to get instant access. When you head to the site, just enter nitro as the invite code. If you miss the cut, don’t be too disappointed, we’ll add access for more users each day or so, once we’re sure the server can handle the load.
Is the PDF-to-Word converter any good?
We think the new service is a game changer for the world of PDF to Word, both for free and paid-for products. In particular, we think we’re raising the bar in an area where most PDF-to-Word converters struggle — making converted Word/DOC files that are truly editable.
Below I’ve listed some the capabilities that stand out the most to me, but I encourage you to go and see what you think for yourself.
- Editable paragraphs. Generate Microsoft Word files with well formatted and easy-to-edit paragraphs. (Not as easy as it sounds)
- Justification & alignment. Maintain the correct alignment for paragraphs – left, right, centered, or fully justified.
- Multi-language text support. Convert all Unicode-based text, in any LTR (left-to-right written) language.
- Convert tables. Turn tabular content into editable tables, including complex and irregular tables that other converters can’t.
- Scalable charts, graphs, diagrams and vector images. Convert vector-based images into scalable objects in Microsoft Word, wherever possible.
- Microsoft Word drawing shapes. Re-use graphics (originally Shapes and SmartArt) in Microsoft Word.
- Graphics effects. Retain the look of effects like textures, patterns, shadows, and mirroring.
Get a sneak peak of Nitro Pro 6.0
If you’re a Nitro Pro user and have been waiting for us to improve our PDF to Word performance, you’ll be pleased to know that with the 6.0 release we’ll be including a whole new PDF-to-Word conversion engine. In fact, you can try it out now as the free online service uses the same core technology. Of course, Nitro Pro 6.0 will have extra conversion capabilities when it launches.
