Nitro Pro 8′s Here: Faster, Easier, Better

It’s that time of the year again! Nitro Pro takes another big step in its evolution towards leading the PDF revolution; giving you more powerful document tools that are easier than ever to use. During the last year, Nitro has focused on reaching out and talking to all our Nitro Pro users who wanted to express an idea or suggestion.  Needless to say, we listened and what we developed is the new and improved Nitro Pro 8!

 

So what’s new in Nitro Pro 8?

Type Text Smart Alignment

The Type Text tool has come of age. Whether you’re filling out static forms, annotating a document, or just touching up a PDF file, Type Text Smart Alignment makes it faster than ever to align new text to existing page elements thanks to visual guides that lock on to nearby text, images, form fields or annotations.

 

Automatic OCR During Conversion 

Many of you have asked us why it’s not possible to edit certain PDF files after being converted to Word documents. After inspecting these files it commonly turns out that the source PDF file would have been image-based, or created from a scanned document. Nitro Pro 8 now detects scanned documents and recognizes image-based text on-the-fly during conversion of PDF to Word, Excel, and RTF. It couldn’t be easier.

 

Auto Recover

The reality of working with computers is that sometimes things go wrong. Unfortunately, it seems these crashes and freezes seem to inevitably happen when you haven’t had the chance to save your work yet. Nitro Pro 8’s Auto Recovery feature has been designed to restore all your PDF files, including unsaved changes and view states to exactly the way things were before the crash. Now you can hold off on ripping your hair out if the application ever crashes!

 

Scanned Document Detection

There’s not much point in having so many powerful PDF editing tools when the document being viewed is nothing more than a photograph of the original. If you do come across a PDF file created from a scanned document, Nitro Pro 8 will detect it and provide you with the OCR tools you need to convert it into a fully searchable or editable PDF file.

 

Autonomy WorkSite™ Integration

Enterprise deployments of Nitro Pro 8 can provide seamless opening and saving functionality for PDF files stored in a WorkSite document repository. Using Nitro to access document management systems (DMS) is now as easy as working with local folders on your PC.

 

In-Application Purchasing.

Since our goal was to make working with Nitro Pro easier and more of a no-brainer, we also wanted to extend this philosophy to the process of purchasing a license. The new In-App Purchasing utility enables you to purchase and activate a full license without ever leaving Nitro Pro 8, allowing you to resume working with your open PDF files without ever interrupting your work.
