Handy tips from the Nitro Team: Nitro PDF Professional
We asked around the office to find out what tips and tricks our team thought our users would like to hear.
We’ve included a few handy highlights below to help you do more with your PDF files, and save some time while you’re at it.
Confirming your version and licensing details
We get a few people asking what version they have installed, or the status of their license. Whether you’re looking for documentation, lodging a support case, or checking for upgrades – it’s a handy thing to know. To find out, follow these simple steps:
- Open Nitro Pro
- Click the Help ribbon tab
- Click About
Here, you’ll find what version you have installed, the EULA, and licensing details, as well as options to deactivate or register.

Copying an image from one PDF to another
Nitro Pro’s editing and extraction functionality, combined with tabbed viewing, allows you to manipulate multiple PDF files at once. More than occasionally, you’ll want to get graphical content out of one, and into another. Here’s how:
- Select the Edit tool
- Right-click on the image you need
- Click Copy
- Right-click anywhere on the page in the new document, and click Paste

The fastest way to open Nitro Pro
This is one for keyboard shortcut enthusiasts – open Nitro Pro in an instant, without touching your mouse or Start Menu, all from the Run dialog)
- Press Windows + R (the Windows key can usually be found next to the Alt key)
- Type nitropdf
- Press Enter

Speedy text markup
This is a handy tip for anyone working with large amounts of text, or acts as a shortcut to access markup tools without leaving the ribbon tab you’re working in.
- Select the Copy Text tool
- Select the text in question
- Right-click on the text:
a. Select from Highlight, Underline, Cross Out, or Replace Text
b. Alternately, select Add Note to Text
