How to Convert Microsoft Excel (XLS) to PDF Files Free

With a basic understanding of how Microsoft Excel files print, you can easily create the PDF output you need using the PrimoPDF free pdf creator. And by standardizing print settings across sheets, you can convert your entire workbook to a single PDF.

To standardize print settings across multiple worksheets

  1. From Microsoft Excel, select the first sheet and click File > Page Setup (Page Layout > Page Setup in Excel 2007).
  2. From the print quality menu, select the desired DPI, and click OK.
  3. Repeat these steps for each sheet in the workbook.

To print all sheets in a workbook to a single PDF

  • Click File > Print, ensure that Entire Workbook is selected under Print What, and then select the PrimoPDF printer.

Also, don’t forget that you can use PrimoPDF’s Append to Existing option to combine multiple workbooks into a single PDF, simply by assigning the same output filename to each conversion.
