Running Nitro PDF Professional on a Mac
Steve will be pleased. No doubt he’s been waiting impatiently for this as have I the iPhone 2.0 release.
We can confirm that Nitro PDF Professional 5 runs nicely on Mac, with the help of virtualization software.

This blog post is not an official or formal announcement — while we have tried Nitro Pro on a Mac, we don’t officially support its use. We just wanted to tell those of you who use a Mac that it is possible. If you’re running the appropriate virtualization tool, you can now use the Nitro Pro trial, and create and edit PDF files free of charge for 14 days.
To get started, install VMware Fusion, and then install Nitro Pro.
For Parallels users, we’re yet to try Nitro Pro. If you’d like to try it and lets us know how you go, please post a comment about your experience below.

It works fine on Parallels
October 6, 2008Jason, thanks for letting us know.
October 6, 2008Luckily I have a Mac, so this is very helpful for me! Thanks!
March 28, 2009Nitro PDF works fine with Parallels.
The only problem I find is when trying to e-mail the document from Nitro. It will not go to my Mail program in mac, although I can do this from other windows applications.
Any suggestions…

November 23, 2010I just wish that you would release a Mac version of NitroPDF. In my opinion, your NitroPDF is the absolute best PDF software available, with Nitro-Reader as the second best. It just annoys me that I am forced to choose between my MacBook and NitroPDF on my office PC every time I want to go beyond the capabilities of Preview or Acrobat. I may give VMware a try, but I have found Parallels to be troublesome for my MacBook. Even having NitroPDF capabilities is not worth compromising my MacBook.
January 11, 2011I would gladly pay for either a Mac version of NitroPDF or access to a web-based version running on a NitroPDF server. Please!
Thanks for your comment. It would be great if you could post your suggestion to our online community where it could be tracked by our developers and voted by other members of the community. http://community.nitropdf.com/nitropdf/products
April 7, 2011We are considering moving from PC to Mac , our business has operated for 5 years on PC and we use Nitro PDF extensively for documentation. I am concerned that Mac will struggle with Nitro PDF and historic MS Data. Any advice welcome.
December 2, 2011Hi Ian,
We unfortunately don’t offer a Mac-compatible Nitro product quite yet. We definitely have one on the radar though so sit tight and we’ll be able to solve your conversion needs. Thanks for your support of Nitro!

December 14, 2011Hi Jeff,
We are currently not compatible with Mac but it is definitely on our radar. If you follow the steps in this blog post you can create a workaround to get the trial for Mac. Thanks Jeff!
